Tears of a GoddessTears of a Goddess

“Elon!  Come quick!  There’s snow falling!”  Young Ilan called to her twin.  Elon ran to the same window and pressed his nose against the pane.
“Wow!  Maybe we’ll be able to make snowmen tomorrow!”  Elon exclaimed excitedly.  The snowflakes were now coming down in a flurry of pale white outside the thick windowpane.
“Bedtime, Ilan, Elon.”  G’ma Aylen said from her rocking chair by the warm fire.  G’ma always seemed to be cold, even in high summer.
“But G’ma! It just stTears of a Goddess by ~Teague-Drydan

Shining down upon me,
I can taste the dawn sleeping.

The beauty of the night,
The strength of the moon,
It keeps all the monsters away.

To touch a star,
It fell in my hand,
To taste the wind,
Coming from the sea,
I try my best to strain against the tethering.

A beauty of the night,
Pouring life on me,
My dearest goddess,
The moon & the night,
Keeping me safe,
Thought the darkest light.

The beauty of the sea,
The moon and stars reflecting,
The strength of the light,
Fading with the night.

Dearest goddess,
Touch my soul now,
Am I pure?
Am I good?

UprisingShe was born as an uprising,
Given a crown and told to be queen-
Until the ember in her brain
Sizzled and burst into flame-
The constant screaming drove her insane
And she left her legacy on your doorstep.

If there had been a note,
It must have rotted away,
But it would have said
"I'll come back some day."
And in the space she hid in,
She began to decay-
She told you
"I'll be fine, just back away."
And she swallowed the key to her mind.

It cut open her throat
As it went down
And she stood very still,
Dreams pouring out-
She never wanted you to find out
But when she snapped
The truth came out-
It crawled out of her tough Uprising by ~ThornOfADesertRose
The May QueenThere is a ghost still left in this machine,
but all it does is sigh,
I used to be the May Queen…
And like the wind blowing
through reeds, soft and haunting,
is the familiar sound of that wistful sighing,
the remains of a mournful cry;
I was a queen and now I am nothing...

I used to be the May Queen,
when I was fair and seventeen.
The summer sun was candy sweet.
I danced carefree in my bare feet.
I had a young man's heart to share,
I wore his flowers in my hair.
My world was new and evergreen,
when I was fair and seventeen.
I held court in the flowering spring.
Life was good when I was queen,
but now, I have nothing.
